An unforgettable experience: glass processing demos with students from Kent State University in Murano
Dear readers,
I am excited to share with you an extraordinary moment that I experienced last week: I had the honour of conducting demos on glass processing for students of Kent State University in Florence at the renowned Abate Zanetti glass school in Murano, thanks to the collaboration with MUVE Education.
More than 100 students gathered to attend these demonstrations, eager to explore the fascinating world of glass crafting. With great enthusiasm, I guided the students through every step of the process, from fusion to modelling, showing them the techniques and secrets of this ancient Venetian craft.
The room was pervaded with an atmosphere of wonder and admiration as the students watched with bright eyes the glass take shape under my hands. And as I explained to them the intricate details of each technique, I could sense their curiosity growing and their interest turning into inspiration.
But what made this experience even more significant was the human connection that was created between us. Despite the different cultural origins and spoken languages, the universal language of art has united us, transforming that day into a moment of cultural exchange and mutual learning.
I sincerely thank MUVE Education for making this valuable opportunity possible and Kent State University for showing interest and openness towards Venetian art and culture. I hope this experience inspired students to explore their passions and pursue their dreams with determination and confidence.
I invite you to keep following my blog to stay up to date on upcoming artistic and educational adventures. And if you have the opportunity to visit Murano, don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the magical world of glass.
See you soon,
Eros
